AC SERVO MOTOR Precision, Speed, Accuracy, Throughput and Analytical functions are the design target of every control system. Servo motor is an electric motor designed for precision purposes most especially for position, velocity and torque control capability which makes motion/movement more accurate. Servo motor's design unlike other synchronous motor takes advantage of feedback feature to deliver accurate motion as profiled in the program software. Like all other motors, servo motor consist of Rotor and Stator but in addition has encoder/resolver as the feedback component while some are with or without brake system depending on applications Other electric motor may be started directly by applying the voltage using some forms of switching devices such as contactor or switches while others may be powered with frequency inverters where there may be need for operation speed to be regulated but servo motor does not follow suit.
